The brief
Series C fintech scaling from 240 to 400 engineers across three hubs. The VP Engineering owns platform, SRE and developer experience — and is expected to fix a deployment pipeline that currently blocks the product roadmap more than it enables it.
What you will own
- Own platform, SRE and DevEx across three European engineering hubs
- Take deployment frequency from weekly to multiple times daily
- Build the engineering management layer — five leads to hire
- Set the reliability contract with product: SLOs the business actually reads
What we are screening for
- Led 100+ engineers, with real platform/SRE ownership (not only delivery)
- Scaled an organisation through a hypergrowth phase and survived it
- Regulated environment exposure — fintech, payments or similar
- Fluent English; based in or willing to work EU hours
